Newsreader botches ‘vibrating toothbrush’ anecdote, simulates sex act

A newsreader launches into an absurd innuendo completely oblivious in a YouTube clip circulating today, but at least her co-anchor got the joke.

The list of newsreader gaffes is long and filled with accidental penis drawings and misread autocues, but this one in particular is one of the worst/best we’ve seen. In it, a Morning News host offers up a tip on how to soothe children during teething.

‘When my son was teething he used to like to take the big fat rubber end of my vibrating toothbrush and put it in his mouth,’ she says.
‘And he’d just kind of sit there, like ‘oh yeah, that feels good, that hits the spot,’ she adds, simulating the motion with her hand. The co-anchor then turns to the camera with an awestruck expression, as she attempts to recover by reminding viewers that it relates to the problems of itchy gums.

Other major news cock-ups we’ve seen this year include a host accidentally picking up a stack of papers instead of his iPad, and a newsreader attributing an Asiana Airlines plane crash to ‘Captain Sum Ting Wong’. - Metro UK
